A quick tuning for regularly maintained pianos. 

This service is mostly for pianos that are very regularly tuned, but sometimes I’ll stumble upon an irregularly maintained piano that held pitch within 1-2 cents. If the piano doesn’t need anything else, I only charge the Touch-Up Tuning price.

This appointment is for pianos that have not been tuned in the last 12-24 months.

Sometimes, a piano that has not been tuned for an extended period of time may require two appointments. When a piano has been left out of tune for a long time, the tension of the strings can cause the tuning pins to gradually pull back toward the position they have been sitting in. Because of this, the piano may not hold its initial tuning as well.

A second tuning after the initial appointment allows the strings and tuning pins to settle into their proper tension, helping the piano hold its tune more consistently and remain stable for a longer period of time.

During your appointment, I may also inspect the piano for other areas that could benefit from service or adjustment. Depending on the piano’s condition, this may include pedal adjustments, sticky or sluggish keys, regulation, playability adjustments, cleaning, and minor repairs.

These issues can develop for a variety of reasons, including normal wear, changes in humidity, age, or a lack of regular maintenance. Piano repair can vary dramatically depending on what's actually causing the problem. If I notice anything that needs attention, I’ll explain the issue and discuss the recommended repair with you before performing any additional work.
